ABOUT KAMI EVANS

Education and Professional Development

Evans holds a Bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications from Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). Her education provided a strong foundation in effective communication, strategic planning, and community engagement. Furthering her education with Public Leadership Credentials from Harvard's Kennedy School, Evans gained advanced skills in public policy, governance, and leadership, preparing her to serve her community effectively.

Career and Community Involvement

Throughout her professional career, Evans has demonstrated a dedication to public service through leadership roles. As the Director of Community Outreach for GCA of Fairfield, she spearheaded initiatives to engage youth in sports, resulting in a significant increase in financial resource allocation through donations. This role highlighted her ability to make a tangible difference in the lives of many families.

Evans has also been deeply involved in local nonprofits, including Filling In the Blanks, The Westport Museum for History & Culture, and The Barnum Festival. She has served on the boards of the Westport Downtown Association and Saugatuck Nursery School and is a Minute Man Yacht Club Governor. Her involvement with the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce and the AWARECT Gala committee underscores her commitment to women and girls. Additionally, Evans has participated in numerous UNA-USA events and produced multiple videos for UN Women for International Women’s Day over the past four years.

Evans' campaign is built on a foundation of family values and community strength. She believes that strong families are the backbone of a thriving community and advocates for policies that support working families. This includes affordable childcare, parental leave, and family-friendly workplace practices. Recognizing the importance of a united community, Evans is a staunch supporter of local businesses and is committed to attracting new industries to the area. Her platform includes workforce development initiatives that equip residents with the skills needed for success in today's economy. Additionally, Evans focuses on improving access to healthcare services, addressing public safety concerns, and implementing programs that support mental health and substance abuse treatment.


Personal Life

Kami Evans resides in WESTPORT with her family, including her two school-aged children. She enjoys volunteering, reading, and participating in outdoor activities, and has a passion for horseback riding with her children. Her personal and professional experiences have shaped her vision for District 26, and she is dedicated to being a voice for all residents.
